Vitals is a solo show presenting the story of Anna, a Toronto paramedic. Anna’s daily routine is life, death, bureaucracy. Every call she receives is an emergency. How much trouble is our city in? Based on real interviews conducted with Local EMS workers, Vitals weaves together a canvas of affecting, poignant and disturbing emergency stories and explores their impact on the responders to these calls.
About the Author
Rosamund Small is Artistic Associate at Outside the March Theatre. Her plays include Vitals, Sisters, Maven, and TomorrowLoveTM, an immersive theatrical experience about love, technology and the future. Vitals was honoured with Dora Mavor Moore awards for Outstanding Production and Outstanding New Play, as well as the Nora Epstein National Literary Award and the JP Bickell Award for Drama. Rosamund adapted the play for an independent film, produced by Outside the March as an immersive filmgoing experience in collaboration with cinematographer Mike McLaughlin. Rosamund studied Theatre and Sexual Diversity Studies at the University of Toronto. She is a graduate of the Soulpepper Academy.
